Kaitlynn Woodard, LMFT

Kaitlynn is happy to share more about her journey to becoming a therapist. Originally, she didn’t anticipate pursuing this career path, but she is grateful that it unfolded the way it did. As a child, Kaitlynn was deeply involved in musical theatre and performing. At the age of 16, while attending a Broadway camp in New York City, she began to hear personal stories from others in the performing arts world—stories about struggles with anxiety, depression, and addiction. She also learned about the intense pressure and challenges performers face in trying to achieve success and book roles.

These experiences gave Kaitlynn a glimpse into the emotional toll that the entertainment industry can have. She realized that a future in performing could require her to put some of her core values—like family and marriage—on hold.

Although she deeply respects and admires those who pursue performing careers with passion and dedication, she found that her own skills in listening and compassion might be best used by entering the mental health field.

Kaitlynn also had a growing interest in understanding the human mind and how it works. As she entered college, she was certain that she wanted to become a therapist, although she wasn’t yet sure which specific path to take.

While in college, she served as a Resident Advisor, supporting students from freshman to senior year. Living among the students and being available to them gave Kaitlynn valuable insight into the emotional and relational challenges many young adults face.

These experiences further solidified her interest in becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Her decision to pursue the LMFT track was also influenced by her own experience with therapy. Her first therapist was an LMFT, and through both individual and family therapy, she became most familiar with that specific therapeutic approach.

Kaitlynn has remained committed to her own mental health journey and continues to attend therapy herself. She believes strongly that therapists should engage in their own mental health care in order to best support others.

Today, Kaitlynn feels honored to walk alongside individuals as they navigate their own mental health journeys. She has been in the field since graduating in 2020 and has been passionate about helping individuals and couples find hope and reach their goals and potential. Kaitlynn is deeply dedicated to helping others achieve what they are looking for with therapy services and take care of their emotional well-being.
