We're committed to making therapy as accessible as possible. Whether you prefer in-person sessions at our Mooresville, NC office or virtual appointments, we offer flexible scheduling to fit your life. Below you'll find everything you need to know about scheduling, attending, and managing your appointments

Choosing to seek help is a courageous step! At Stafford and Associates Counseling, we are committed to making your experience positive and empowering. Therapy appointments are the core of what we do. We believe knowing what to expect and understanding how treatment works is critical to your success. Whether you visit our Lake Norman office in person or meet with us virtually, we want to share what appointments with Stafford and Associates are like. Our experienced Charlotte, NC area therapists are here to help you find clarity, develop effective coping strategies, and achieve the personal growth and healing you seek.

In-Person Therapy Appointments

In-person therapy sessions take place in our therapists’ private offices in Mooresville, NC. Each therapist’s office has a variety of comfortable seating options. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to allow time for parking and check-in. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule your appointment, and our standard cancellation policy will apply. We understand delays happen occasionally, but please call if you're running late so we can determine if we can still accommodate your session.

Telehealth Therapy Appointments

We use SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant video platform, for all virtual sessions. You'll receive an email with a secure link 24 hours before your appointment. Simply click the link at your scheduled time to join the virtual waiting room.

You will need:

  • A computer or smartphone. Devices purchased in the last two years are better equipped for telehealth sessions.

  • An integrated or external microphone, web camera, and speakers or headphones

  • A reliable internet connection that’s at least 10 Mbps

For the best experience:

  • To ensure the best video quality, try to find a quiet, well-lit space. Avoid backlight and keep your camera at about eye level.

  • Test your internet connection as well as your camera, microphone and speakers (or headphones) prior to your session to avoid technical issues that could affect your session.

  • If you experience low video quality, a wired Ethernet internet connection can provide a better experience.

Rates and Insurance

We accept many types of insurance. View our insurance page to learn more.

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, checks, and cash. For insurance clients, we collect your co-pay at each appointment. We keep a card on file for all clients to ensure uninterrupted care and to process any cancellation fees or unpaid balances.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

We understand that life happens. We ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. You may cancel by calling our office at (704) 534-5997, emailing us, or through your patient portal.

Late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) and no-shows will be charged the full session fee, as we are unable to fill that appointment time on short notice. Insurance does not cover late cancellation fees.
